At T2 Design, we offer two ways to begin the product development process, depending on where you are in your journey:

1. Free Design & Prototyping Quote If you are confident in your concept and ready to build, we can gather your project details and provide a free quotation for the design and construction of your prototype.

2. Product Evaluation Consultation ($150) If you want to validate your idea before making a major financial commitment, this optional, hour-long strategy session is highly recommended. Design and patenting can be expensive, and this consultation is designed to identify and correct any concept oversights early on. We will conduct a preliminary patentability search, assess design hurdles, and determine a viable strategy for bringing your product to market, including discussions on licensing and manufacturing options.

What to expect if you choose the consultation:

  • Format: Up to one hour by phone, video conference or in person, with no advance preparation required. All details are strictly protected by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

  • Payment: Payable via Visa/MasterCard/Discover or Zelle at the time of the conference.

  • Note on Inventorship: Regardless of which path you choose, we recommend making a written record of your idea, signed and dated by an impartial witness, to establish your inventorship.

Prototype costs vary depending on the complexity of the product. The consultation should provide us with enough information to allow the preparation of a fixed price quote for the design and construction of your prototype.

T2 Design conducts patent searches only with highly experienced patent searchers. A combined International and United States patentability search, which includes a written patentability opinion from a patent attorney is $750. The patentability search includes samples of the closest prior art patent references.

All confidential aspects of your project will be protected by a Non-Disclosure Agreement which T2 Design can provide. In addition, it is generally recommended that you establish inventorship of your idea by making a written record of your invention, and signing and dating the record with an impartial witness.
