At T2 Design the product development process often begins with a consultation where we conduct a preliminary patentability search, assess and attempt to correct any design problems, and determine a strategy for bringing your product to market. Design, prototyping and patenting your invention is expensive, so it is important to identify any concept oversights that might prevent your product idea from being successful as early in the process as possible. In addition to product evaluation, the consultation provides an opportunity to discuss pertinent issues, including patenting, licensing and risk.

The cost of the consultation is $150. The consultation may be conducted by phone or in person, and is up to an hour in length. Payment can be made by check in advance, or by Visa/MasterCard/Discover over the phone at the time of the consultation. Please note that during the consultation all confidential aspects of our discussion will be protected by a Non-Disclosure Agreement. In addition, it is generally recommended that you establish inventorship of your idea by making a written record of it, and signing and dating the record with an impartial witness. There is generally no advance preparation required for the consultation.

Prototype costs vary depending on the complexity of the product. The consultation should provide us with enough information to allow the preparation of a fixed price quote for the design and construction of your prototype.

If you would like to set up a time for a consultation or a quotation, please fill in the contact form below with your preferred conference time, and availability will be confirmed by email. A signed Non-Disclosure Agreement will also be emailed to you.

T2 Design conducts patent searches only with highly experienced patent searchers. A combined International and United States patentability search, which includes a written patentability opinion from a patent attorney is $750. The patentability search includes samples of the closest prior art patent references.
